SALARY: £18,000 - £19,000 commission based
Function:
Reports directly to the Office Manager and uses telephone and computer to sell places at dinner parties, balls and a wide variety of social events to registered members of the agency. The successful candidate must be able to accept a high degree of responsibility, will be required to host events and holidays and will liaise with the venue management to ensure that required standards of food and service are maintained. The position also requires maintenance of computerised records, office administration and hard copy filing.
Key responsibilities:
Telephone sales: Communicates with members of the agency, all of whom are registered, about dinner parties, balls, outdoor events (e.g. Royal Ascot, Henley Royal Regatta, Polo at Cowdray Park), holidays (e.g. skiing in the Alps, Club Med in the Mediterranean, weekend breaks in Italy) cultural events (e.g. visits to art galleries, museums, historical buildings, opera, theatre, ballet). Processes credit card payments
Hosting events: Meeting and greeting members at social events and on holidays, co-coordinating the activities with the venue management, ensuring that members requirements are met.
Events organisation: Booking events, confirming details, drawing up seating plans, noting dietary requirements, ensuring food and wine meet the established standards in quantity, quality and service
Computer: Inputs sales and events and member's details on networked and Microsoft-based Access software, ensuring records are kept up-to-date and downloads new members' details from the web site
Office administration: Maintains filing system, processes mail, dispatches brochures and other literature to new enquiries and registered members of the agency.
