I am currently looking to recruit a Financial Controller for a highly entrepreneurial start-up interior design business. The business has been launched on the back of a very high profile individual from this field and they already have an impressive forward order book of projects both in the UK and abroad (typical spend £2m per project).
Initially you will be responsible for all accounting duties from ledger management through to the production of management accounts and statutory returns. So you must be prepared to ‘roll up your sleeves and get on with it’, as the business expands you will be responsible for building a small team beneath you. In addition you will be responsible for all project costing.
You will be qualified, finalist, or even qualified by experience level accountant with previous experience of an all round accounting role in a small, growth focused enterprise. In addition you will probably have worked in a ‘creative’ business as to be successful in this role you will need to be able to integrate and work effectively with designers, creative directors and project managers.
