The employer is a boutique firm of Chartered Accountants based in Kensington, W8, which provides bookkeeping, management accounting and consulting services to clients both with and without their own accounting departments. Due to growth and the continued need to provide accurate and timely management accounts to clients of varying sizes, we are currently recruiting a bookkeeper to be involved with a varied portfolio of our clients on an on-going basis. This is NOT a training role for ACA or ACCA, and has no audit aspect to it whatsoever.
The role covers:
• Maintaining a number of varied clients’ bookkeeping records, generally on Sage Line 50, including bought ledger, sold ledger and nominal ledger
• Full reconciliation of suppliers’ ledger accounts to suppliers’ statements, customers’ ledger to customers’ remittances and bank reconciliations
• Depending on the nature of the client’s business, spending some time at client premises, but most of the time in the office in Kensington
• Responsibility for all statutory and other agreed deadlines, for example completion and submission of VAT returns, PAYE returns, monthly or quarterly reports, etc.
• Ad hoc projects using bookkeeping and analytical skills
• Administration and office duties, both in relation to client affairs, and office affairs
The ideal candidate should:
• hold a full UK Passport or work valid EU work visa and be entirely fluent and articulate in both written and spoken English
• be in possession of a recognised bookkeeping qualification
• have a very high level of attention to detail, as this role calls for very accurate and detailed work at all times
• have at least 2-3 years’ UK bookkeeping experience
• be numerate with an analytical mindset and a very organised disposition
• be a self starter, driven by a single-minded commitment to accuracy, and able to work unsupervised
• be personable
• have good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and Sage Line 50
• be willing to grow into a bigger role with on-the-job training in new areas,
Salary: starting at around £24K per annum, depending on candidates’ experience, with a commencement date broadly to suit candidates own requirements.
